I am currently working as a Senior Reporter at Bangladesh Pratidin, one of the most widely circulated newspapers in Bangladesh. With more than 15 years of experience in print journalism, I have developed expertise in court reporting, crime investigation, judicial affairs, law, and human rights journalism. I am particularly recognized for source-based reporting, rigorous fact-checking, investigative journalism, and developing exclusive stories.
For me, journalism is not merely a profession; it is a passion and a lifelong commitment. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to reporting on law, justice, human rights, crime, and important social issues that have a direct impact on people and society.
I am passionate about working in challenging and dynamic environments where I can utilize my education, professional experience, and journalistic skills to their fullest potential. I am committed to carrying out my responsibilities with honesty, efficiency, integrity, and sincerity.
I began my journalism career in 2008, while pursuing my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) studies in Munshiganj. In 2011, while completing my undergraduate studies, I joined The Daily Janata in Dhaka as a Staff Reporter. This was the beginning of my professional journey in legal and court reporting.
From June 1, 2012, to December 31, 2017, I worked as a Staff Reporter at The Daily Janakantha, where I further developed my experience in court reporting, judicial affairs, crime, and investigative journalism.
On January 1, 2018, I joined Bangladesh Pratidin, where I currently serve as a Senior Reporter. Over the years, I have covered major developments involving the judiciary, courts, law enforcement agencies, human rights, crime, and other issues of national importance.
I am also actively involved with the Law Reporters Forum (LRF), an organization of journalists covering law, justice, the judiciary, and human rights.
I currently serve as a General Secretary of the Law Reporters Forum (LRF).
I obtained my Bachelor of Social Science (B.S.S.) degree from Government Haraganga College, Munshiganj, under the National University.
I later completed my Master of Social Science (M.S.S.) in Political Science from Tejgaon College, Dhaka.
I was born on May 16, 1991, in Balai village, Tongibari Upazila, Munshiganj District, at my maternal grandparents’ home.
My father, Md. Aslam Dhali, spent many years working abroad and is currently engaged in business in Bangladesh. My mother, Farida Begum, is a homemaker.
I am married to Amrin Arafat, who is a homemaker. We have one daughter, Mushfika Islam Arisha, who is currently a Class Three student.
Over the years, I have sought to establish myself as a journalist committed to truth, accuracy, accountability, and public interest. My professional focus has allowed me to work closely with courts, lawyers, law enforcement agencies, investigators, and other key stakeholders.
I believe journalism carries a responsibility to inform society, hold institutions accountable, and give people access to accurate and credible information. I remain committed to that responsibility and to continuously improving my skills as a journalist.
